Young man: No! Women can’t be leaders! They belong in the kitchen. They carry our kids, they are mothers, they cook. They are weak! And he hit the table with his fist. Look around, men rule the world- presidents, businessmen… Tell me, do you know women who are leaders? Tell me their names! You can’t!
This was a real conversation I had with an educated young man in his 20s. I was so shocked and disgusted when he ended his sentence laughing: Come on, we both know we haven’t met any great leader who is a woman! I didn’t say a thing… I was so up in arms against it that he didn’t deserve my answer. I hope one day he will tell his friends how he met one- and I’m thinking about his daughter!
